Day 1 : Izmir – Pergamon –Kusadasi:
Greeted by
our guide in Izmir and visit the oldest church in ancient
Smyrna St.Policarp, which sembolized the community of the
Seven Churches of the Apocalypse.Drive to Pergamon, which
was a great center of culture and the capital of
East-Empire. On the Acropolis there are numerous remains
including the celebrated Library, the steepest Theatre of
Anatolia, the Temples of Trojan and Dionysus, the place of
monumental Altar of Zeus famous with the relief of Gods and
Devils, the Gymnasium situated on the terraces, the Lower
Agora. After a delicious lunch with Turkish specialties you
will visit the medical center of the ancient world,
Asclepion, the first psychological treatment hospital
dedicated to the God of Health. Then drive to Kusadasi and
overnight.
Day 2 : Kusadasi-Ephesus-Laodicea – Pamukkale
You will
visit the best preserved and restored ancient city in
Turkey, which is known to be the Commercial, the Religious
and the Social Center of Antiquity, and one of thr
highlights of any visit in Turkey; Ephesus; a site 116 th
years under excavation. Highlights will include the Celcus
Libraray,(third largest library of ancient time) The
Theatre,Agora, Temple of Hadrian,Trajan Fountain and join
the lunch, after lunch After visit the ancient city join the
lunch, then visit to the Virgin Mary House, where she spent
her last days. Drive to Pamukkale and on the way see the
ancient city of LAODICEA, the remains of the Cathedral still
exists. Overnight in Pamukkale.
Day 3 : Pamukkale - Philadelphia - Sardes- Thyatira – Izmir
Airport
Early
morning start with the tour of the ancient city of
HIERAPOLIS, the Theater and the well preserved Necropolis.
Continue to PHILADELPHIA in ALASEHIR, visit the scanty
remains of the Cathedral. Drive to SARDIS, capital of the
ancient LYDIA; see the Temple of CYBELE & DIANA, which later
became a church, the golden River Pactalos and the royal
Road. Then drive to Akhisar to visit the church of ancient
Thyatira. Our service ends in IZMIR airport. (Today’s meals:
breakfast and lunch).
